Remarks

medium sized, fragile pecten between 35-50mm in size
about 25 primary, rather low ribs with a row of sharp spines, interspace covered with 3-5 secondary, smaller ribs
colour mostly whitish with red spines
no confusion possible with other species
endemic for the Galapagos Isl.
